How to use a baby carrier in winter?

Carrying your baby in winter can be especially cozy and warm!

In a carrier, the baby’s body and the caregiver’s body warm each other, so there is usually no need for heavy layers. It’s best to dress the baby in thin, temperature-regulating layers such as cotton, merino wool, or thermal clothing, which help maintain warmth without restricting movement.
It’s recommended to avoid bulky clothing inside the carrier, such as padded suits or thick jackets, as these can interfere with proper fit and support. Instead, it’s better to use a shared outer layer — such as a babywearing coat, a wide jacket, a large umbrella, or any outer covering that protects both of you together.
Pay special attention to exposed areas like the feet, hands, and head, and keep them warm with socks, a hat, or additional layers as needed.
As always, listen to your body, watch for signs of cold or discomfort, and adjust your babywearing to the conditions and environment.
