Can I carry my baby after a cesarean birth?

After a cesarean birth, the body needs time to heal and recover.

Although it is a common procedure, it is still a significant surgery involving the healing of multiple layers of tissue. Therefore, it may be necessary to wait longer before returning to babywearing, and to carefully adapt the type of carry in order to avoid strain on the surgical area and support optimal healing.

At this stage, it is recommended to choose carriers with a soft waistband, or a ring sling, which do not apply direct pressure on the abdomen.

It is important to listen to your body, proceed gradually and according to medical guidance, and, when needed, rely on another caregiver or family members during the initial period.
